Before the ride, her last words was "Adieu, mes amis. Je vais a la gloire!" (Farewell, my friends, I go to glory). Althoght, Mary Desti later confessed that her actual words was "Je vais à l'amour" ("I am off to love"). Two hours later her body was delivered to her studio. She was put on the sofa and covered by shale, in which she was dancing, a purple robe was thrown on her legs. The studio was filled with flowers and candles.On the table a photo of Isadora with her children was standing .
The mayor of Nice after finding out that among Duncan's papers was a certificate of soviet citizenship, forbade to bury the dancer in Nice. She was burried in Pere Lachaise,France, under her kids graves. On her funeral and cremation were perfomed "Ave Maria", Bach's "Aria", Beethoven's "In this dark tomb".
